(Reuters) - A gate is erected at Plaza Uruguay Square in Asuncion January 4, 2012. Asuncion Mayor Arnaldo Samaniego ordered the fencing of the square, a popular spot for demonstrators, to protect the green space from damage caused by prolonged protests. Most recently, a group of indigenous camped at the area for three months to demand for land from the government. The signs read: "Plaza Square is ours."
