BlackBerry maker offers PlayBook software upgrade

TORONTO (Reuters) - Research in Motion released a long-delayed software update for its PlayBook tablet on Tuesday, hoping to give a fresh start to the unloved device and pave the path for its next-generation BlackBerry smartphones.
