Galaxy S III rumored to receive Jelly Bean in Q3; Galaxy S II and Note updates slated for Q4

Samsung (005930) will reportedly update a number of its flagship smartphones to the latest version of Android by the end of the year. According to SamMobile, the Galaxy S III will be the company's first handset to be updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, followed by the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note. The website notes, however, if Samsung suddenly decides not to update the Galaxy S II, owners will receive a 'value pack' update. The Galaxy S III is expected to receive an update by the end of the third quarter of 2012, while the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note will receive an update sometime in the fourth quarter.
