New photos of iPhone 5 parts emerge as release nears

While we may have already seen the external pieces of the next-generation iPhone fully assembled, new purported images of parts from the upcoming smartphone reveal some new information. Along with showing the nano-SIM tray, home button and internal sensors, the alleged images, which were published by French blog Nowhereelse.fr and discovered on a now defunct Chinese forum, also reveal a metal backing that is said to sit behind the handset's display. It is unclear what the protective element's exact purpose is, however some have speculated that it may be an electromagnetic shield or a piece to separate the iPhone's screen from hot internal components.
