OTA Update Center allows developers to push updates to custom Android ROMs
Aug 11th, 2012
A new free service has been announced for developers of custom Android ROMs. The service, called OTA Update Center, is relatively simple and allows developers to easily push over-the-air updates to their users. Rather than requiring developers to host their own files, OTA Update Center provides a server and an update app that streamlines the process of updating a custom ROM. After registering for Update Center, a developer needs to simply add a few lines to their ROM's build.prop file and provide a direct-link to the download. The rest of the work is done by Google's (GOOG) service, and users will automatically be notified when an update is available for their custom ROMs. [Via XDA-Developers] Read (Source: BGR News) -
